The opportunity

We are looking for a Senior Account Manager to join our team. This role offers you the opportunity to learn, grow and build a career.

What you will be doing

  • Responsible for the management of 20-30 adviser practises.
  • Building and maintaining strong, long-lasting customer relationships.
  • Act as the lead point of contact for all customer account management matters.
  • Problem solving with internal junior team, as well as directly with clients as and when needed.
  • Ensure the timely delivery of management & payment reports according to customer needs.
  • Identify areas of improvement to meet deadlines.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data feeds, onboarding, and support.
  • Keep data integrity up to date and accurate.
  • Prepare regular reports of progress to team leader.
  • Leading, training, and mentoring of the junior account managers.

Here is what your day-to-day would look like:

  • Daily communication with clients requesting bank statements as well as commission statements where needed.
  • Processing bank statement into usable format and identify commission payments to all the different providers.
  • Constant communication with junior account managers to manage clients and make sure the prioritisations and correct time management is in place.
  • Commspace Reconciliations to bank statement.
  • Requesting Commission statements from Providers and following-up with Providers.
  • Loading commission statements to Commspace.
  • Sending Unlinked items to clients to complete.
  • Unlinked items sent back from clients to be checked and completed with agreements and Partners, also creating new partners and partners where needed and then importing back to Commspace.
  • Final reconciliation from Commspace to bank statements
  • Quality checks to be done to check if all data is in line with guidelines and dealing with any queries that the client may have.
  • Finalizing clients for set period and drawing their reports.
  • Follow-up calls, meetings, and mails with clients for any corrections that needs to be done as well as assessing their ever-changing needs with regards to reporting and improvement of service offering.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in finance, or related field (required)
  • Minimum 2 years’ working experience in a leadership position (required)
  • Working experience in the South African financial services/financial planning industry (preferable)
  • Proven experience working with large datasets.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving
  • Highly adaptable to a variety of software, tools, and programs
  • Hungry, resilient, and motivated to succeed
  • Self-motivated and proactive, yet a team player
  • Detail-orientated and capable of delivering a high level of accuracy
  • Organizational and administrative skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English and Afrikaans)
